On February 17, 2026, a screening and award ceremony for the feature film “The Composer” took place at the Yaşar Kemal Cultural Center in Ankara as part of the Days of Turkmen Cinema in the Republic of Türkiye.
For outstanding achievements in film music, composer Kerim Berdimuhamedov was awarded the special “Winged Golden Steed” prize. His work received high praise from film industry professionals, critics, and the international cultural community.
Special recognition was also given to the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, which made a significant contribution to the project’s implementation. The foundation was awarded the “Great Winged Falcon” prize for its active support in the creation of the film “The Composer.” The importance of the role of public organizations in the development of national culture and the arts, as well as in supporting talented filmmakers, was emphasized.
The award ceremony was conducted by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, who presented the honors to the film’s creators and partners. On behalf of the Turkmen side, the awards were received by the Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan, A. Shamuradov. In his speech, the minister expressed sincere gratitude for the high recognition of the work of Turkmen filmmakers.
A. Shamuradov particularly noted the contributions of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in supporting and developing the national film industry.
During the ceremony, it was emphasized that modern Turkmen cinema not only preserves national traditions and cultural values, but also actively integrates into the international cultural space, participates in exchanges of experience, and makes a significant contribution to the development of world cinematography.
