Turkmenistan's transport infrastructure in 2026: new stations, vessels, and highways
Turkmenistan plans to complete and commission several key transport infrastructure projects in 2026. Priority projects include new railway and bus stations in the city of Arkadag, as well as maritime and warehouse facilities. In the maritime sector, two dry cargo ships and one dredger are planned for commissioning. The "Program for the Socioeconomic Development and Investments of Turkmenistan in 2026" includes the construction of a modern warehouse complex at the dry port of the Turgundy railway station, as well as the addition of a new Ro-Ro vessel to the country's maritime fleet. The Mary-Turkmenabat section of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat high-speed highway will also open and enter service this year. Source: "Нейтральный Туркменистан" newspaper
