President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedow, held a meeting of the State Security Council on March 4, during which the results of the work of the military and law enforcement agencies over the first two months of the current year were reviewed. A number of issues were also discussed concerning the maintenance of security and peace in our independent homeland, strengthening the material and technical base of law enforcement and military structures, and further improving their activities.
The Secretary of the State Security Council and Minister of Defense, Begench Gundogdyyev, reported on the work carried out since the beginning of the year to successfully achieve the objectives outlined in the Development Program of the Armed Forces of the country. Additionally, a report was presented on practical steps taken to improve the service conditions and living standards of defenders of the homeland, as well as on raising the qualifications of officers.
After hearing the report, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of continuing targeted efforts to modernize the country’s Armed Forces and to continuously study advanced global experience in this area, as well as implementing comprehensive measures for the development of the National Army. In this regard, the Secretary of the State Security Council and Minister of Defense was given a number of specific instructions.
Following this, the heads of military and law enforcement agencies presented reports on the activities carried out in their respective structures for January–February of the current year.
After reviewing these reports, President Serdar Berdimuhamedow issued a series of instructions to the heads of the military and law enforcement agencies.
The Head of State emphasized that, in accordance with Turkmenistan’s defensive Military Doctrine, measures are being taken to ensure a high level of security and the territorial integrity of our independent, permanently neutral homeland. Attention was also drawn to the fact that priority is given to strengthening the country’s defense capabilities and improving the social and living conditions of defenders of the homeland and their families. In this context, it was noted that work in this direction will continue in the future.
