Turkmenistan's transport and communications sector exceeded its two-month plan by 14.3%
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Annayev reported on the results of activities carried out in January–February 2026 in the structures under his supervision. As reported, the growth rate of work performed and services rendered in the transport and communications sector amounted to 114.3 percent. The growth rate of freight traffic by road, rail, air, sea, and river reached 101.1 percent, while passenger traffic grew by 103.2 percent. After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of fully utilizing Turkmenistan's transport and transit potential, strengthening international cooperation in developing transport and transit corridors across the country, and increasing passenger and freight traffic volumes. At the same time, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to continuously modernize the communications sector's material and technical infrastructure in line with current realities.
