The first meeting of the inter-parliamentary friendship groups of Turkmenistan and Mongolia, established on a bilateral basis, took place on March 30 in a videoconference format. During the meeting, the Turkmen side presented the main directions of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, based on the principles of positive neutrality, peacefulness, trust, equality, and humanism. An overview of the composition of the national parliament and the work being carried out to provide legislative support for large-scale socio-economic reforms across various sectors was also given. Parliamentarians noted that direct experience exchange in the legislative sphere opens new horizons for bilateral partnership. The parties outlined plans to intensify contacts between relevant committees, as well as initiatives involving young deputies and women parliamentarians.
