On April 1, 2026, the International Transport and Logistics Forum opened in Saint Petersburg at the Expoforum Congress and Exhibition Center. The Turkmenistan delegation, headed by Deputy Minister of Railway Transport Silapberdi Nurberdiyev, is participating in the event. Participants are discussing the development of infrastructure for international transport corridors, freight and passenger logistics, tourism, digital services, innovative solutions, regulatory frameworks in the transport sector, as well as global transport industry activities and the introduction of advanced technologies. It should be noted that, on Turkmenistan’s initiative, the UN General Assembly has adopted a number of resolutions on transport cooperation. It is also worth mentioning that Turkmenistan hosted the first UN Global Conference on Sustainable Transport in 2016, effectively laying the foundation for systematic international dialogue on this issue.
