Turkmenistan and Japan outline steps to develop scientific and technological cooperation
On April 1, 2026, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, Atadurdy Bayramov, and the President of the Turkmen-Japanese Scientific and Technological Association, H. Koinuma, as well as representatives of Japanese companies and organizations cooperating with the association. During the meeting, the participants discussed issues related to further strengthening the previously established scientific and technological cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan, as well as introducing potential new Japanese companies and organizations to the Turkmen market. An exchange of views also took place regarding plans to introduce water purification technologies and equipment in Turkmenistan by the Japanese company Tohkemy Corporation. In addition, the meeting addressed the prospects of a project proposed by a professor of Chubu University on processing natural gas into liquefied gas for subsequent export to global markets, as well as establishing helium production from liquefied gas. Information was also presented on the services offered by the Japanese organization Asia Seed in developing human resources within the education systems of Asian countries.
