Turkmenistan’s transport and communications complex exceeded its quarterly plan by 14.1%

On April 3, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Annayev reported at a government meeting on the results of activities of the supervised structure for January–March 2026, according to the online newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden age.”

As reported, the growth rate of completed works and services provided by the transport and communications complex reached 114.1 percent.

The growth rate of freight transportation carried out by road, rail, air, sea, and river transport amounted to 102.7 percent, while passenger transportation increased by 102.9 percent.

During the reporting period, the growth rate of services provided reached 106.9 percent for the Ministry of Railway Transport, 125 percent for the Ministry of Motor Transport, 117.4 percent for the State Service “Türkmenhowaýollary,” 108.3 percent for the State Service of Maritime and River Transport, and 114 percent for the Ministry of Communications.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the transport and communications complex is one of the key sectors of the economy. In this regard, emphasis was placed on the need to take appropriate measures to increase the volume of passenger and freight transportation. The head of state also instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to continue introducing an interdepartmental electronic data exchange system and to fully utilize the potential of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport.
