On April 9, political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea were held in Seoul. This was reported on the official website of our country's foreign policy agency.
As noted in the report, the Turkmen side at the political consultations was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ahmet Gurbanov, while the Korean side was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Ms. Yi-Hye Cecilia Chung.
During the talks, the parties noted with satisfaction the high level of rapidly developing interstate relations. In this regard, it was emphasized that meetings and visits at the highest and high levels, as well as regular consultations between the foreign policy agencies, play an important role in developing bilateral relations.
The meeting included discussions on the further development of political and diplomatic relations, the expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation, and the strengthening of the contractual and legal framework.
Among the topics discussed was the development of trade and economic relations, including cooperation in fields such as energy, industrial construction, shipbuilding, water management, transport and infrastructure, as well as environmental protection.
The role of the Turkmen-Korean Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technological Cooperation, as well as the Joint Turkmen-Korean Business Council, was specifically highlighted.
The parties also exchanged views on important issues of the regional and international agenda and confirmed their readiness to continue productive cooperation both bilaterally and within the framework of international organizations.
Special attention was paid during the meeting to the development of cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Following the consultations, the sides confirmed their mutual interest in the further development and deepening of the Turkmen-Korean partnership.
