Preparations for the "Central Asia – Republic of Korea" Summit discussed in Seoul

As part of a working visit to the Republic of Korea, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov participated in the Senior Officials' Meeting of the "Central Asia – Republic of Korea" Cooperation Forum in Seoul. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

According to the report, during the meeting held on April 10 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Ms. Eui-Hye Cecilia Chang, participants extensively discussed preparations for the first "Central Asia – Republic of Korea" summit.

In his speech, A. Gurbanov noted that Turkmenistan views the "Central Asia – Republic of Korea" Cooperation Forum as an effective consultative platform that promotes multilateral cooperation among the participating states. In this regard, it was emphasized that the Turkmen side was among the first to support the initiative of the Republic of Korea to hold the inaugural "Central Asia – Republic of Korea" summit in Seoul.

While discussing the drafts of the final documents, the Turkmen side confirmed its readiness for active and effective participation in joint work aimed at their coordination and content enrichment.

During the meeting, organizational and protocol issues related to the upcoming summit were discussed, including the holding of parallel events.

On April 10, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov also attended a meeting between the deputy heads of foreign policy agencies of Central Asian countries and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Cho Hyun.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed important issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Special attention was paid to cooperation within the framework of the "Central Asia – Republic of Korea" Cooperation Forum.
