Issues of developing the cultural sphere of the Lebap region discussed at the state level

At a visiting meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on April 10 under the leadership of Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, special attention was paid to the issues of improving the activities of cultural institutions in the Lebap region. As noted in the report of Vice-Prime Minister Bahar Seyidova, modern conditions are being created in the region for the cultural leisure of residents, and new cultural centers are regularly put into operation. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."

The Lebap region is very rich in historical and cultural heritage; currently, 196 monuments registered by the state in the region are being studied on a scientific basis. Archaeological finds are exhibited in local museums and presented to the general public. The inclusion of the multilateral nomination "Silk Roads: Zarafshan-Karakum Corridor" in the UNESCO World Heritage List proves the international recognition of the region's historical significance.

A state theater, numerous houses of culture, libraries, and art schools operate within the region, aimed at providing the younger generation with a modern education and offering various cultural services. International festivals and Culture Weeks held in previous years played an important role in introducing the region's creative potential to the world community.

After hearing the report, the Head of State noted the need to organize the work of cultural institutions in accordance with the requirements of the time and to promote national values among the youth. Furthermore, the Honorable President gave the Vice-Prime Minister specific instructions regarding the preservation and more profound scientific study of the historical and cultural monuments in the region.
