During his visit to the Republic of Austria, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, met with Federal President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen. This was reported by the online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden Age».
During a constructive exchange of views, Hero-Arkadag emphasized that the current visit to the Republic of Austria is viewed as an important step that will provide a powerful impetus to intensifying bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
During an exchange of views on the current state of trade and economic cooperation, the National Leader of the Turkmen People noted the need to more fully utilize the existing potential to increase trade turnover. In this regard, the importance of the Joint Turkmen-Austrian Commission was emphasized, and it was proposed that its next meeting be held in Ashgabat in June of this year.
High-tech areas, including green energy, digitalization, and artificial intelligence, have been identified as promising areas of cooperation. Turkmenistan shows great interest in Austrian experience in developing urban infrastructure, water treatment technologies, and the banking sector. Joint work in these areas will enable the introduction of innovative solutions into the national economy, promote its diversification, and ensure sustainable development.
Cultural dialogue is also steadily developing. Hosting Viennese balls and concerts by the Turkmen-Austrian Symphony Orchestra "Galkynyş" in Ashgabat has become a good tradition.
Noting that Turkmenistan is always open to long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation with Austria, Hero-Arkadag invited the Federal President of the Republic of Austria to visit Ashgabat at his convenience.
Having expressed gratitude for the invitation, Alexander Van der Bellen noted with satisfaction that Austrian-Turkmen relations are now being filled with new content and are successfully developing for the benefit of the two friendly peoples.
