On April 13, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via a digital system to review the progress of work being carried out in the country's agricultural complex and regions. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Tangryguly Atahallyyev, and the provincial governors (hyakims), who reported on the seasonal measures being implemented on the ground. This was reported by the "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" electronic newspaper.
The governors provided information on the ongoing fertilization and irrigation work in the wheat fields of the provinces in accordance with agrotechnical standards. It was also noted that cotton sowing is being carried out nationwide according to the established plan, with agricultural machinery being used effectively. The core of the reports focused on specific measures implemented for the care of spring potatoes and vegetable crops, as well as cocoon production in the silk industry.
Special attention on the agenda was given to the issue of ensuring fire safety. It was emphasized that due to rising temperatures, cleaning and plowing operations are being conducted regularly in pastures, croplands, and forest zones to prevent fires. Furthermore, the governors reported on the construction status of social, cultural, and industrial facilities planned for commissioning in the regions this year.
After listening to the reports, the Head of State noted the importance of completing cotton sowing and wheat care within the specified timeframes according to agrotechnical requirements. Emphasizing the significance of scientifically grounded innovative approaches in ensuring food abundance, the President gave specific instructions to the Vice-Premier and the governors. He also ordered that the high-quality and timely completion of ongoing construction projects be kept under strict supervision.
