On April 15, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan, Lee Wonjae, who presented his credentials to the head of state, according to the online newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden age.”
It was emphasized that the Republic of Korea is an important economic partner of Turkmenistan. Productive cooperation has been established with leading Korean companies, in particular with “Daewoo,” which is implementing major projects in the country’s chemical industry.
Noting the importance of deepening cooperation in the implementation of large-scale industrial projects, the Ambassador expressed gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for creating favorable conditions for the effective operation of Korean companies in Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the important role of cultural and humanitarian ties in strengthening interstate dialogue, bringing peoples closer together, and promoting mutual enrichment of cultures was also highlighted.
Continuing the discussion, and noting favorable opportunities for the progressive development of cooperation in science and education, the head of state emphasized that the King Sejong Institute Korean Language Education Center is successfully operating in Ashgabat, expressing confidence that bilateral partnership will continue to strengthen across various fields.
At the end of the meeting, the diplomat expressed gratitude to the head of state for the time devoted and assured that he would make every effort to further strengthen friendly relations between the Republic of Korea and Turkmenistan.
