Turkmenistan’s Hero-Arkadag holds meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister of the State Council of the PRC

National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, held a meeting on April 15 with Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, who arrived in the country on a visit at the instruction of Chinese President Xi Jinping. This was reported by the online newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden age".

As noted during the meeting, the dialogue established at the highest state level, by opening up broad opportunities, serves as a solid foundation for close cooperation in the political and diplomatic sphere and creates additional favorable conditions for the development of economic, trade, cultural, and humanitarian ties.

It was emphasized that Turkmen-Chinese relations cover a wide range of areas, including political and diplomatic, trade and economic, fuel and energy, transport and communications, logistics, industrial, technological, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

In this regard, fuel and energy partnership remains one of the priority areas of bilateral cooperation. A clear example of this is the ongoing joint project for the construction of a gas pipeline that ensures the transportation of Turkmen “blue fuel” to China. In accordance with a document recently signed by the country’s President, the next phase of the “Galkynyş” gas field development will begin in cooperation with the Chinese corporation CNPC.

Within the framework of aligning Turkmenistan’s strategy for the revival of the Great Silk Road with China’s “Belt and Road Initiative,” new horizons are opening for partnership in transport and logistics.

Trade and economic cooperation is also demonstrating steady growth. China is one of the largest trading partners of Turkmenistan. Cooperation is actively developing in the textile industry, agriculture, and high technologies.

In this context, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to further develop fruitful cooperation with China.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides expressed confidence that Turkmen-Chinese relations will continue to develop and strengthen across a wide range of areas for the benefit of the peoples of both countries, and exchanged best wishes.
