On April 16, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Ding Xuexiang, who was on a visit to Turkmenistan. This was reported by the online newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden age”.
As noted, interstate relations cover a wide range of areas, including the economy, culture, science, and education. The key vector of bilateral cooperation is the fuel and energy sector. A clear confirmation of its strategic importance is the fact that Turkmenistan and China are marking the 20th anniversary of gas cooperation this year.
“We will launch the development of the fourth phase of the «Galkynyş» field in Mary velayat. Success in this sphere is inseparably linked to active political dialogue at the highest level,” said the Head of State.
Noting with satisfaction that the Turkmen and Chinese peoples are united by centuries-old bonds of friendship and shared historical, cultural, and spiritual values, the interlocutors emphasized the vast potential for implementing joint projects aimed at preserving common historical heritage and confirmed their commitment to the comprehensive development of cultural ties.
Underlining that the further development of relations with the People’s Republic of China is one of Turkmenistan’s priorities, the Head of State emphasized the country’s commitment to further deepening and expanding fruitful cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the sides exchanged best wishes and expressed confidence in the steady expansion of the Turkmen–Chinese strategic partnership across a wide range of areas in the interests of common prosperity.
