On April 15, a working meeting was held between representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan via digital video link. During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the issues of digitalizing customs operations for transit cargo. The main topic of the talks was the use of modern technologies in the clearance of transit cargo. In particular, Turkmen specialists familiarized themselves with the experience of the neighboring state in developing a paperless customs system, implementing a unified transit document, and improving the relevant legislative framework.
Furthermore, the parties identified future directions of cooperation aimed at increasing the efficiency of cargo transportation in the region. It was noted that within the framework of bilateral relations, consistent steps will be taken to simplify customs procedures and introduce modern digital solutions.
This meeting demonstrated that relations between the customs authorities of the two countries are reaching a new level and showed their interest in increasing the potential of regional transit corridors.
