With the participation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Ding Xuexiang, a ceremony was held on April 17 to launch the drilling of production wells and the construction of a gas preparation facility with a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters per year as part of the fourth phase of the «Galkynysh» gas field development. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."

The Hero-Arkadag arrived at the site of the launch ceremony for the fourth stage of the «Galkynysh» development, located in the Yoloten district of the Mary region. The First Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC, Ding Xuexiang, also arrived at the venue of the celebration.

Warmly greeting the participants of the ceremony, the Hero-Arkadag noted that nowadays every day in our country is marked by truly glorious events. And today, the start is given to another large-scale and highly important undertaking in the progressive development of the domestic gas industry – the fourth phase of the industrial development of the «Galkynysh» gas field.

"And today, within the framework of the fourth phase of its development, we are launching the construction of a facility for the preparation of 10 billion cubic meters of commercial gas per year and production wells for gas extraction in the same volume. The construction of the facility will be carried out by the China National Petroleum Corporation, acting as the general contractor by order of the State Concern 'Türkmengaz'," said the Hero-Arkadag.

The implementation of such a significant project covers the full cycle of work, starting from the construction of gas wells to the installation of gas collection, treatment, and processing units, gas pipelines, external supply networks, as well as residential and public buildings. Upon completion of the work, 1,041 jobs will be created.

Then the floor was given to the First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Ding Xuexiang. Warmly greeting the Hero-Arkadag and the participants of the celebration, the guest emphasized that the start of the fourth phase of the «Galkynysh» gas field development project is currently being given.

As noted, this is an important event in deepening the comprehensive interaction between China and Turkmenistan, including the strengthening of cooperation in the gas sector.

Then, in a solemn atmosphere, the Hero-Arkadag and the head of the PRC delegation lowered a capsule with a commemorative inscription into the foundation of the future facility and laid the first shovels of concrete, giving the official start to construction.

On the occasion of the start of the IV phase of the «Galkynysh» gas field development, a festive sadaka (meal) was given with the participation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the First Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC Ding Xuexiang.
