On April 23, the XVIII International Scientific Conference titled «Turkmen Horse and the World Art of Horse Breeding» was held at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University on the occasion of the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse. This was reported by the online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

Before the forum began, participants visited an exhibition of creative works in which the beauty of Akhal-Teke horses was artistically depicted in fine and applied arts, carpets, jewelry, and photographs.

The plenary session of the international scientific conference then took place in the university’s conference hall. Speakers emphasized that the swift Akhal-Teke horses, bred by ancestors on the ancient Turkmen land, have become a universal value and are rightfully regarded as one of the most famous horse breeds in the world.

Today, thanks to the efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the centuries-old art of horse breeding has received a strong impetus for development. The promotion of Akhal-Teke horses worldwide, the increase of their population, and the improvement of breeding and selection work have become priority areas of state policy.

During the conference, the Presidential Decree of Turkmenistan on awarding the honorary title «Türkmenistanyň at gazanan atşynasy” («Honored Horse Breeder of Turkmenistan») to skilled professionals was read out.

Those awarded expressed sincere gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for the modern conditions created for the development of the national art of horse breeding inherited from ancestors, and for the high appreciation of the work of industry professionals.
