President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated his compatriots and horse breeders on the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse on April 26. This was reported by the online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden Age».

The Head of State emphasized that Akhal-Teke horses hold a special place in the life of the Turkmen people and are a source of national pride. He noted that these horses have been known throughout the world since ancient times as «heavenly» Nusaý, and «winged» horses, and that this perception is reflected in traditional Turkmen proverbs such as «Aty baryň ganaty bar», «Taý ata ýetirer, at – myrada», «At – döwletlilik», and «At rysgaly alynda».

President Berdimuhamedov also stressed that the state is creating all necessary conditions for the development of horse breeding, the national art of horse training (seismanship), and equestrian sport at the international level, as well as for steadily improving the livelihoods of relevant specialists.

The President highlighted that the National Equestrian Games Group «Galkynyş» has repeatedly received the Grand Prix and special awards at international circus festivals. He also noted that a series of events aimed at further promoting Akhal-Teke horses worldwide is planned for 2026 in Turkmenistan and abroad, in accordance with the Horse Breeding and Equestrian Sports Program for the year declared «Independent neutral Turkmenistan is the homeland of purposeful winged horses».

The Head of State wished his compatriots and horse breeders good health, long life, family well-being, and continued success in the development of the Turkmen art of horse breeding.
