Turkmenistan and TAСС aim to develop information cooperation

On April 24, a working meeting was held in Moscow between diplomatic representatives of Turkmenistan and Executive Committee of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the leadership of Russia’s largest news agency, TAСС. This was reported by the International Information Center of Turkmenistan.

The parties conducted a detailed exchange of views on current issues of bilateral cooperation in the media sphere. The main emphasis was placed on the need to expand channels for the exchange of reliable information and to implement joint information projects.

Particular attention during the dialogue was given to cooperation within the framework of the Council of Heads of State Information Agencies of the CIS countries. Plans were discussed for large-scale media coverage of key anniversary dates, including the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence and the anniversary of the establishment of the CIS. An important topic was media support for Turkmenistan’s upcoming chairmanship in the CIS, which requires a high level of coordination between national and international media outlets.
