From April 20 to 24, 2026, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in cooperation with the Government of Turkmenistan, held an interregional seminar in Ashgabat on ensuring a nuclear security regime for materials outside regulatory control. This was reported by the press service of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Austria.

The seminar was attended by representatives of Turkmenistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Republic of Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, contributing to regional cooperation and the exchange of best practices.

Highly appreciating the support of the IAEA, Turkmenistan once again demonstrated its readiness to act as a reliable partner in strengthening regional stability and technological preparedness.
