Turkmenistan to consider Seychelles’ proposals on developing tourism ties

On April 29, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism of the Republic of Seychelles, Barry Faure, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a visit. This was reported by online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

The interlocutors paid special attention to cooperation within authoritative international organizations, primarily the United Nations. In this regard, the head of state expressed gratitude to the Republic of Seychelles for supporting Turkmenistan’s constructive initiatives and for co-sponsoring important resolutions of the UN General Assembly.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed opportunities for establishing trade and economic ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Seychelles. In this context, the President highlighted the export potential of the national economy, naming the fuel and energy complex, chemical and textile industries, and agriculture among the promising areas of cooperation.

In order to strengthen bilateral interaction, the President of Turkmenistan invited the Seychellois side to take an active part in exhibitions and international conferences held in the country.

Another topic of discussion was the development of humanitarian ties, particularly cooperation in the field of tourism.

Noting the significant opportunities for exchanging experience in this area and for developing mutual tourism in the future, the head of state confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to consider specific proposals from the Seychellois side aimed at establishing mutually beneficial partnership.
