International conference of customs authorities held in Turkmenistan

On April 29-30, an international conference titled “The role of Regional Training Centres in strengthening interregional cooperation” was held in Ashgabat, organized by the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan. This event became an important step towards improving customs operations in the region and strengthening international relations. This was reported by the information service of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The conference was attended by representatives of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Regional Training Centers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Japan, and Hungary, as well as leaders from the WCO Secretariat, the regional office in Baku, and specialists from the customs authorities of several neighboring states. Additionally, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country and representations of international organizations in Turkmenistan participated in the meeting.

During the talks, primary focus was placed on increasing the professional qualifications of customs personnel, implementing new training methods, and creating effective mechanisms for exchanging experience between regional centers. The second day of the conference continued at the WCO Regional Training Center in Turkmenistan, where participants familiarized themselves with the modern facilities and the work of the Service's Central Office.

Within the framework of the conference, a bilateral meeting was held between the Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of mutual cooperation and identified priority areas for the development of relations in the future.
