On May 1, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via a digital system. During the meeting, the results of the work performed in the first four months of this year were summarized, and macroeconomic indicators of the country's socio-economic development were analyzed. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."
At the beginning of the meeting, information was provided regarding new laws adopted by the parliament and international cooperation. During the reporting period, several legislative acts were adopted concerning the protection of citizens' rights, modernization of the economy, and environmental preservation. Additionally, deputies held numerous meetings and consultations with foreign partners and international organizations via the digital system.
Positive results were achieved in the economic sphere. Based on the results of January-April of this year, GDP growth remained stable at 6.3 percent. High growth rates were noted in the industrial, construction, transport-communications, and trade sectors. State budget revenues were fully realized, and salaries, pensions, and state benefits were funded on time.
Production plans in the oil and gas sector were also exceeded. The "Türkmennebit" State Concern increased indicators for oil extraction and refining. Furthermore, designated plans for the production of gasoline, diesel fuel, and liquefied gas were successfully implemented. The President gave specific instructions on developing new fields and increasing the efficiency of drilling operations in this sector.
Information was provided on the work carried out in the agricultural complex, particularly regarding the care of cotton and wheat fields. It was noted that preparations are underway for international equestrian sports events to be held in Tashkent to promote the art of horse breeding globally. In the construction and industrial complex, the building of various facilities continues, and the material-technical base of new roads and energy systems is being strengthened.
Work in the trade and culture sectors was also conducted according to the set plans. Production was increased in the textile industry and the entrepreneurship sector. Successes achieved in the fields of education, science, healthcare, and sports were highlighted. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree on presenting laptop computers as gifts to first-grade students in the new academic year.
A report on the results of the political-diplomatic work carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also presented. In the coming month of May, the delegation of Turkmenistan is planned to participate in international forums in the cities of Kazan, London, and Baku. The Head of State emphasized once again that the country's foreign policy must be based on peace-loving principles.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President expressed satisfaction with the results of the work performed and demanded that the pace of reforms being implemented in all sectors should not be slowed down.
