Textile industry Ministry of Turkmenistan exceeded plan by 3.3%

Deputy Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyyev reported on May 1 at a government meeting on the results of the work of the supervised ministries and sectoral departments, as well as the entrepreneurial sector, for January–April of the current year. This was reported by online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

As reported, within the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, compared to the same period last year, the growth rate of trade turnover amounted to 109.2 percent, and industrial production reached 100.2 percent.

Compared to the same period of the previous year, the growth rate of production in the Ministry of Textile Industry reached 103.3 percent, including cotton yarn production at 102.2 percent, cotton fabrics at 100.5 percent, and leather products at 103.1 percent. The production plan of State Association «Türkmenhaly» was fulfilled at the level of 107.2 percent.

During the reporting period, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange held 97 trading sessions, during which 10,136 contracts were registered. The growth rate of work performed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for January–April 2026 amounted to 119.8 percent. During the period under review, 7 exhibitions and 5 conferences were held.

According to the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the growth rate of agricultural and food production reached 108 percent, while industrial production increased by 105.8 percent.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of implementing appropriate measures to supply the country’s markets and retail outlets with essential goods, control prices, and ensure the population is provided with food products. The Head of State also instructed the Vice Prime Minister to continue work on modernizing the operations of textile enterprises.
