First-grade students in Turkmenistan to receive computers as gifts

Deputy Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Mammedov reported on May 1 at a government meeting on the results of the activities of the subordinate structures for January–April 2026. This was reported by online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

As reported, during the period under review, measures were implemented to develop the education sector. School pupils and university students took part in international subject competitions and Olympiads, winning a total of 807 medals. During the specified period, work aimed at improving the field of science was also carried out. Scientific research in priority areas of science and technology was coordinated.

In the healthcare sector, advanced methods of disease prevention and treatment were introduced into practical medicine. During the reporting period, efforts were also made to develop physical education and sports. Members of the national teams won 169 medals.

At the initiative and with the support of the Hero-Arkadag and the President of Turkmenistan, it has become a good tradition to present computers to first-grade students in the country. Reporting on the practical steps taken in this direction, the Vice Prime Minister submitted for consideration by the Head of State a draft of the relevant Resolution.

Summing up the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that constant attention should be paid to ensuring the proper organization of work in the fields of science, education, healthcare, and sports, as well as to the consistent improvement of medical institutions and the effective use of sports facilities.

After signing the Resolution on presenting laptops as gifts to students admitted to the first grade of general education secondary schools, the Head of State instructed the Vice Prime Minister to carry out the relevant work.
