On May 4, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via a digital system with the participation of Deputy Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahallyyev and the governors of the regions, during which issues related to the development of the country’s agricultural complex and the progress of seasonal fieldwork in the regions were discussed. The governors of Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, and Mary velayats reported on the pace of ongoing agricultural campaigns in their respective territories.
As reported, in order to obtain a rich wheat harvest this year, care and vegetative irrigation are being carried out on grain-sown fields. Irrigation is also being conducted on cotton fields. In accordance with agrotechnical standards, care is being provided for spring potatoes and other vegetable and melon crops.
In order to successfully fulfill the planned cocoon production targets, care for silkworm larvae is currently ongoing in the regions.
Reports were also presented on the implementation of tasks planned for this year within the framework of socio-economic development programs in the regions.
After hearing the reports, the Head of State emphasized the importance of ongoing agricultural activities and instructed that cotton and wheat crops be properly cared for in accordance with agrotechnical standards, as well as that necessary measures be taken to protect wheat fields from pests.
In addition, the President of Turkmenistan noted the necessity of ensuring proper care for spring crops and issued relevant instructions in this regard.
