On May 4, 2026, a meeting was held at Mejlis of Turkmenistan to review the results of work carried out from January to April of the current year. During the meeting, activities undertaken to improve the country’s national legislation were discussed and upcoming tasks were outlined. This was reported by the press service of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
It was noted that during the reporting period a regular session of the Mejlis was held, at which draft laws were considered and adopted. These were related to the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, ensuring industrial safety of production facilities, improving accounting and financial reporting at enterprises, organizations and institutions, licensing certain types of activities, automobile roads and road activity, environmental protection and conservation of aquatic biological resources, and increasing the effectiveness of the migration service.
Special attention at the meeting was paid to the preparation and holding of planned events scheduled to take place in the national tourist zone «Awaza» in October of this year, as well as to the active participation of Mejlis deputies in them. In this regard, it was emphasized that the working group should make every effort to ensure a high organizational level of the planned events.
The speeches also highlighted the importance of further developing fruitful relations established with international organizations and parliaments of countries around the world, strengthening interparliamentary cooperation, and supporting the state policy of the country through parliamentary diplomacy.
