On May 4, 2026, a meeting was held in Yerevan between a Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ahmet Gurbanov, and a Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Mnatsakan Safaryan. This was reported by the press service of a Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the talks, the diplomats noted the high level of political and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries. It was emphasized that the foundation of bilateral relations is regular high-level dialogue.
Addressing trade and economic cooperation, the participants highlighted the need to activate existing mechanisms in order to diversify and increase mutual trade volumes. They also expressed readiness to create conditions for direct cooperation between business entities and the private sectors of both countries.
In the context of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, its high level was noted. With the aim of further strengthening humanitarian ties between the peoples, the Turkmen side proposed holding the next Days of Turkmen Culture in Armenia.
