On May 6, the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, chaired a meeting of the State Security Council. During the meeting, the results of the work carried out by military and law enforcement agencies over the first four months of this year were summarized, and priority tasks for strengthening national security were defined. Minister of Defense Begench Gundogdyev reported on the development of the Armed Forces and the improvement of living conditions for military personnel. Based on the defensive Military Doctrine, the Head of State instructed to continue modernizing the material and technical resources of military units. Instructions were also given to organize the Victory Day celebrations on May 9 at a high level.
Prosecutor General Begmurat Muhamedov reported on the observance of legality. Noting the importance of crime prevention, the President signed documents regarding the appointment and dismissal of prosecutors. Minister of Internal Affairs Muhammet Hydyrov provided information on measures to maintain public order, ensure road safety, and prevent fires during the summer season.
Chairman of the Supreme Court Begench Hojamgulyyev reported on improving the judicial system, while Minister of National Security Dovletgeldi Meredov spoke about measures taken to protect national tranquility. Head of the State Border Service Ilaman Ilamanov reported on border security, Minister of Justice Merettagan Taganov on legislative improvements, and Head of the State Customs Service Maksat Hudaykulyyev on the implementation of digital systems at customs checkpoints.
At the end of the meeting, the Honorable President emphasized that improving the social welfare of the defenders of the Motherland and their family members will remain a priority of state policy. The Supreme Commander-in-Chief wished the participants great success in their responsible service to protect the peaceful life of our people.
