President of Turkmenistan holds meeting with Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia

On 7 May, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, who arrived in the country on a visit. This was reported by online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

As was emphasized during the meeting, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening relations with Georgia. The traditionally friendly and constructive dialogue between the two countries is based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and trust.

One of the key aspects of Turkmen–Georgian dialogue is trade and economic partnership. Positive results have been achieved in cooperation in the fields of energy, industry, and healthcare.

Among the important areas of bilateral cooperation is transport and logistics. Turkmenistan is steadily expanding the infrastructure of international transport corridors. The country’s advantageous geographical location creates favorable conditions for connecting the states of the Asian continent with the Black Sea region and Europe. In this regard, the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of implementing and promoting projects such as «Caspian Sea–Black Sea» «Lapis Lazuli» and «Green Port».

Noting the role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen–Georgian Commission on Economic Cooperation in enhancing trade and economic relations, the Head of State expressed confidence that the results of its upcoming meeting will contribute to the consolidation of joint efforts.

The interlocutors also emphasized the importance of cultural and humanitarian dialogue in strengthening bilateral ties, bringing the peoples closer together, and mutual enrichment of cultures.
