On May 7, a «Mekan» Palace of the Ashgabat city municipality hosted a ceremony to present monetary and valuable gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan to war veterans and the spouses of fallen soldiers on the occasion of a Victory Day a the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. This was reported by online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

Before the start of the celebration, participants toured an exhibition set up at the venue, which featured materials from the Great Patriotic War, including soldiers' letters and other artifacts.

The celebration opened with the song «Mert ogullar» and a theatrical literary-musical composition titled «Mert ýigitler gaýrat üçin dogulýar», performed by artists of a National Music and Drama Theatre of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly. These performances glorified the bravery of the Motherland's defenders and expressed the people's high respect for them.

Speakers at the ceremony noted that important and significant events in the country are accompanied by grand celebrations, particularly emphasizing the significance of this date in our people's history and the unexampled courage shown by Turkmen jigits during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.

During the ceremony, the floor was also given to war veterans, who shared memories of those difficult years and expressed gratitude for the constant care provided by the state.

Then, in a festive atmosphere on the occasion of the Victory Day, monetary and valuable gifts were presented on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan to the war veterans and the spouses of fallen soldiers.
