An event dedicated to the World Cities Forum, which will be held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, from May 17 to 22 this year, took place in Kabul. The event was organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) office in Afghanistan and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Afghanistan.

Heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Afghanistan took part in the event.

During the event, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, Hoja Ovezov, spoke about the city of Arkadag and the introduction of digital technologies into the city’s life-support system. Photographs of Arkadag city were presented at an exhibition held as part of the event. A video about the city was also shown to participants.

In addition, participants were informed about Turkmenistan’s active cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, as well as initiatives aimed at improving urban infrastructure.
