National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on May 9 congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the 81st anniversary of a Victory in a Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. This was reported by online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

In his heartfelt message, the National Leader noted that Victory Day embodies the hopes and aspirations of peoples for peace, a prosperous life, friendship, brotherhood, and humanism, as well as the principles of patriotism, heroism, and courage. He emphasized that these values occupy a special place in the life of the Turkmen people. It was also noted that in Turkmenistan, veterans of the war who demonstrated outstanding patriotism during 1941–1945, mothers who endured that tragic period, and citizens who worked selflessly are held in high esteem.

According to the National Leader, the great respect for and commemoration of national heroes have always been among the sacred principles of Turkmen society. Today, their names are immortalized in the books «Hatyra» and «Şöhrat». The President’s activities serve as a worthy example in preserving and honoring the memory of compatriots who showed heroism during the harsh years of the war.

He also emphasized that among those who demonstrated true patriotism, love for their homeland, exceptional bravery, and loyalty to military oath during a Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 is the name of the President’s great-grandfather, Berdimuhamet Annayev, a valiant son of the Motherland who went through fierce battles. His courage during the war and his meaningful life path serve as a true example of high patriotism, heroism, and humanity for today’s youth.
