On May 9, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated compatriots and war veterans on a Victory Day in a Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. This was reported by an online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

According to the Head of State, in 1941–1945 humanity faced unprecedented tragedies and irreparable losses. The harsh wartime years put the global economic system, the development of countries, and the fate of people to a severe test. Although decades have passed, the painful memories of those years remain deeply engraved in the hearts of people, including the Turkmen nation, which stands for peace and national unity. Today, these memories call on everyone to defend peace and friendship.

The people of Turkmenistan, together with brotherly nations, united and bravely resisted the fascist threat, demonstrating outstanding courage. Their heroic struggle has been inscribed in history in golden letters. Thousands of brave citizens showed an exemplary model of patriotism, humanism, and selfless love for the Motherland in the name of peace and friendship.

As emphasized by the Head of State, the principle «The Motherland is the Motherland only with its people! The State is the State only with its people!» continues the idea of the National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov: «The State is for the people!». Guided by these principles, large-scale reforms are being implemented to improve living standards, ensure political and economic development, and promote cultural progress.

Great care is shown at the state level for war and labor veterans, who contribute significantly to strengthening social unity and educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and humanism. Their living conditions are being steadily improved. As noted by the Head of State, these heroes who defended the Motherland are a source of national pride and inspiration.

The President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished compatriots and veterans strong health, a peaceful and prosperous life, and great success in their efforts for the further development and prosperity of the neutral Motherland.
