Deputy Chairwoman of Cabinet of Ministers Bahar Seyidova reported on the ongoing work to improve the activities of cultural institutions in the Balkan velayat at an off-site Government meeting held on May 8. This was reported by an online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».
The Balkan velayat is rich in historical and cultural monuments. The State Historical and Cultural Reserve «Ancient Dehistan» is located in the region. A total of 258 monuments are registered by the state in the velayat, and they are being thoroughly studied from a scientific perspective. Archaeological findings are displayed in museums and presented to the general public. Various events are held and cultural services are provided to the population at the «Türkmeniň ak öýi» building in the city of Balkanabat.
It was also reported that preparations are underway to hold the next Culture Week in the Balkan velayat from June 22 to 27 this year.
After hearing the report, the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to properly organize the activities of modern cultural centers, libraries, museums, and theaters in the Balkan Velayat. He also stressed the need for thorough preparations for the Culture Week to be held in the western region and for ensuring a high level of organization of the upcoming event.
