At the visiting government meeting held by Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on May 8 in the Balkan velayat, Vice Prime Minister Batyr Mammedov delivered a speech. He provided the Head of State with detailed information regarding the development of the region's science, education, healthcare, and sports systems. This was reported by an online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

Currently, the construction of social facilities is being carried out at a high pace in the western region. During the current year, it is expected that two new kindergartens, two schools, one health center, and a thoroughly renovated Maternal and Child Health Care Center will be commissioned.

«Mollagara» and «Awaza» sanatoriums in the region, as well as «Dayanç» center, offer modern medical services to local and foreign citizens. In this field, experiences are being exchanged in cooperation with international organizations, particularly UN agencies, and advanced treatment methods are being implemented into the healthcare system.

At the same time, preparations are underway for the upcoming summer holiday season. Planned activities to fully prepare the children's health and recreation centers in «Awaza» National Tourist Zone for the summer season are continuing.

In the scientific field, regular research is being conducted to study the ecology of the Caspian Sea. Scientists have prepared a new topographic map of the region and developed modern technologies for the Turkmenbashy complex of oil refineries.

After hearing the report, the Head of State noted the importance of modernizing the work of education and healthcare institutions. The Esteemed President instructed the relevant officials to increase the level of professional training of specialists and to ensure the effective utilization of sports facilities.
