A meeting was held between the Chairperson of the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, O. Berdiliyeva, and the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, S. Mamedov. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
As noted in the report, during the meeting held on May 12, the parties exchanged views on the activities of the trade unions of the two countries.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to the protection of labor rights and the social security of trade union members. Interest was expressed in further strengthening relations between the trade unions of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.
Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan and the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation.
As part of the Turkmen delegation's visit to Azerbaijan, a conference titled "Trade Union Activities on Climate Change Issues" was held on May 13. It was attended by representatives of trade union organizations, government agencies, international organizations, as well as experts in environmental and social fields. Participants of the event paid special attention to the creation of "green" jobs in the context of climate change, vocational retraining, and the strengthening of social protection.
