On May 13, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Resolution instructing the Office of a President of Turkmenistan and a Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the CIS Executive Committee, to ensure the high-level organization of the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States, to be held on May 22, 2026, in Ashgabat. This was reported by an online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

The document was adopted in order to ensure the high-level organization of the CIS Council of Heads of Government meeting in accordance with the Action Plan for the implementation of Turkmenistan’s Concept of Chairmanship in the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2026.
