Issues of modernizing the legislative base reviewed at the Government meeting of Turkmenistan

On May 15, a regular Government meeting was held via digital video communication under the leadership of the Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov. During the meeting, Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova provided information on the progress of work being carried out to improve and bring national legislation into line with the requirements of the time, the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

Currently, based on proposals received from relevant ministries and sectoral departments, analysis is being conducted and amendments and additions are being introduced to several legislative acts. In particular, consistent work is underway to improve existing laws related to the Arbitration Procedure, Labor, Sanitary, Family, and Housing Codes of Turkmenistan, as well as military duty, military service, administrative procedure, and the judicial system.

Along with this, deputies of the Mejlis, together with various institutions, enterprises, political parties, and public organizations, are carrying out activities to explain the humanitarian policy of the Head of State to the general public. Great preparations are also being made for the scientific-practical conference titled "Main Directions of Development of the Legal System of Turkmenistan During the Years of Independence: National Model of Modern Legislation", which will be organized on the occasion of the Day of the Constitution and the State Flag of Turkmenistan.

The Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, after hearing the report, noted the importance of preparing new draft laws that meet the requirements of the times and the pace of socio-economic development, and instructed to continue work in this direction.
