A meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the Director of the Accessions Division of the World Trade Organization, Maika Oshikawa. This was reported on the official website of the foreign ministry of our country.

As noted, during the meeting held on May 19, current issues of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the World Trade Organization, particularly future steps related to the country's accession to the WTO, were discussed.

The interlocutors exchanged views on regional and international trade and economic cooperation, the improvement of the national regulatory and legal framework, as well as interaction with international organizations and relevant agencies. In this regard, the consistent nature of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the WTO was emphasized.

"Within the framework of the working visit of the Director of the WTO Accessions Division to Ashgabat, a meeting is planned with Government representatives to study issues related to Turkmenistan's membership in the WTO," the report says.
