Turkmenistan and Belarus hold Inter-Ministerial consultations in Ashgabat

Consultations between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Belarus were held at a Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on May 21. This was reported by a press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The delegations were headed by a Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and a Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Utyupin.

During the consultations, the sides discussed issues related to the further strengthening of political and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries. The possibility of further strengthening the legal and contractual framework of bilateral cooperation was also considered.

The sides reviewed the level of mutual trade and opportunities for expanding economic partnership, including through the private sector. Cultural and humanitarian cooperation was also discussed.

As part of his visit to Ashgabat, Pavel Utyupin also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov. The sides discussed current issues of cooperation between the two countries in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Opportunities to expand cultural and humanitarian cooperation were also considered, including the organization of specific events during the current year.
