Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyyev reported on May 22 at a government meeting on the preparations for the celebrations dedicated to a Turkmen Carpet Holiday. This was reported by an online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

As reported, a carpet and carpet products exhibition and the 26th session of a World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs are planned for the occasion. The National Museum of the Turkmen Carpet is set to host a ceremony honoring carpet weavers who have been awarded the state honor — the title of «Türkmenistanyň at gazanan halyçysy» (Honored Carpet Weaver of Turkmenistan) — for outstanding contributions to the development and improvement of the national art of carpet weaving. The capital also plans to host the conferences «Arşyň nepisligi» and "Janly rowaýat».

Summarizing the report, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that great attention is paid in the country to the development and improvement of the art of carpet making. The head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to properly prepare for the Turkmen Carpet Holiday celebrations, the carpet and carpet products exhibition, and the session of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs, and to ensure their high-level conduct.
