On the occasion of the Turkmen Carpet Festival, which is solemnly celebrated in our country every year, an exhibition-review of carpets and carpet products, as well as the XXVI meeting of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs, began their work in the capital. The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, sent a congratulatory letter to the participants of these international events and to the workers of the entire carpet industry of our country. In his address, the Head of State specifically emphasized that the national art of carpet weaving, born from the sharp talent of our mothers and skilled women, has taken a worthy place in the treasure trove of universal human culture. For this very reason, the inclusion of the Turkmen national art of carpet weaving in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity became an international recognition of the extensive work carried out to immortalize this ancient craft. The Turkmen carpet, which amazes the world with its beauty and refinement, is not only a decoration for our homes, but also a clear expression of the centuries-old spiritual values, noble traditions, and endless love of our people for the Motherland, woven into its guls and patterns. The placement of carpet guls on our state symbols testifies to the generations' loyalty and adherence to the covenants of the ancestors.
In the new historical era, great attention is paid in our country to developing the world-famous art of carpet weaving, carefully preserving its ancient patterns, and improving it. The state consistently commissions new, modern enterprises of artistic carpet weaving, creating all favorable conditions for carpet weavers to work productively, and honored women are awarded honorary titles and presented with valuable gifts.
At the conclusion of his congratulatory message, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the gathered participants good health, family well-being, and new successes in their work to promote the art of carpet weaving around the world.
