At the high-level meeting of the Group of Friends of Global Governance held in New York, Turkmenistan announced its official support for the Global Governance Initiative put forward by the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping. Speaking at the meeting, the head of the delegation of Turkmenistan emphasized that our country views its accession to and cooperation within this Group of Friends as the most effective international platform for successfully promoting the said global initiative within the UN framework. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
With the aim of implementing this internationally recognized strategy and improving the global governance system, Turkmenistan, for its part, put forward a package of four specific and practical proposals. The first initiative of our country consists in creating a new and modern Multilateral Preventive Governance Platform with the objective of early prevention of disputes and crises in the world.
As a second important direction aimed at further strengthening the international legal framework and discussing the role of law in the context of global transformations, Turkmenistan is actively promoting the initiative within the UN to declare the year 2028 as the "International Year of International Law". The third and fourth proposals are aimed at introducing general principles of data reliability in the digital system and mechanisms for their joint verification, as well as addressing global challenges solely on the basis of mutual trust and inclusivity.
