On 26 May 2026, on the sidelines of the high-level open debates of the United Nations Security Council, a meeting was held between a Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and a Minister of State for Europe at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, Günter Krichbaum, according to a press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The importance of maintaining regular contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries was emphasized as essential for further developing bilateral cooperation.
The sides noted the progressive nature of trade and economic cooperation, including the development of long-term and mutually beneficial relations with German companies, as well as their interest in further expanding cooperation in this direction.
Significant attention was paid to cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including education, human capital development, and the expansion of academic and professional exchanges.
