On 29 May 2026, a meeting was held at the White House in Washington between a Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, according to a press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the recent intensification of bilateral political and diplomatic dialogue and emphasized the importance of regular contacts at both high and highest levels.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the trade-economic, energy, and transport-communications spheres. In this context, the sides stressed the importance of expanding mutually beneficial partnership, including issues of energy security and diversification of energy supply routes.

The meeting also addressed issues of regional security, countering modern challenges and threats, as well as cooperation within multilateral formats, including a «C5+1» platform.
