On June 1, a President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via digital system with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahallyyev and regional governors (hakims), during which the situation in the agricultural sector and the country’s regions was reviewed. The information was reported by an online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age». The hakims of the Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, and Mary velayats reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural activities. The regional leaders informed the meeting about preparatory work being carried out to ensure the organized start of the wheat harvest campaign. They also provided updates on measures being implemented in cotton-growing areas. In addition, in line with the tasks set to increase the production of vegetables and melons and to maintain food abundance, the regions are currently harvesting the spring potato crop. The heads of the regional administrations also reported on preparations for festive and sporting events dedicated to World Bicycle Day, as well as on the pace of construction of social and industrial facilities scheduled for commissioning this year. After hearing the reports, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction that the country’s hardworking sericulturists had successfully fulfilled their contractual obligations by delivering more than 2,100 tons of silkworm cocoons to the state. In this regard, the Head of state wholeheartedly congratulated the silk producers and the people of Turkmenistan on this significant labor achievement.
