On May 30, 2026, a bicycle ride organized by an Embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania was held in Bucharest to celebrate a World Bicycle Day. This was reported by a press service of a Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Before the start of the event, an Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Romania Annamammet Annayev delivered a welcoming speech. In his remarks, the diplomat highlighted the important role of sports diplomacy in promoting the principles of Turkmenistan’s positive neutrality, strengthening international cooperation, and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.

During the event, special emphasis was placed on the significance of the World Bicycle Day, which was established under a Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan in 2018.

Participants in the bicycle ride expressed their appreciation to Turkmenistan for its consistent promotion of environmental, humanitarian, and sports initiatives on the international stage aimed at strengthening international dialogue, fostering intercultural cooperation, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
